It is a privately owned entertainment industry company specializing in the creation, acquisition, distribution and sale of motion pictures and other programming to various media and markets. monterey video The monterey video division is the 2nd oldest independent video manufacturer and distributor in the United States, now over 20 years old. monterey acquires the exclusive rights (generally United States & Canada) for all video markets to completed motion pictures or other programming. While monterey out-sources the actual manufacturing, all packaging, advertising and other marketing tools, are created in-house. All sales and marketing of the programs are done utilizing an internal sales staff. Some of the many wonderful programs include the entire American Short Story Collection, and the American Playhouse on Video Collection, one of the most prestigious and acclaimed production franchises in the history of television.
- monterey has often claimed prestigious spots on the national sales charts most recently shipping double Platinum on its release of “The Grateful Dead Movie.” “Grateful Dead The Closing of Winterland,” debuted on SoundScan at number 3 also charted Multi-Platinum. The Grateful Dead concert release on video "Downhill from Here" was on the Billboard Top Video Sales chart (debut # 19) and Top Music Videos chart (debut at # 4); as well as our "Ticket to New Year's" DVD release debuted in the Top 15 Music Videos DVD chart. All Grateful Dead releases have qualified for ITA and RIAA gold, platinum and multi platinum awards. Four of the recently developed “View From the Vault” series have qualified as well.

Upcoming films include the Autumn theatrical premiere of The Blue Butterfly starring Academy Award Winner William Hurt, and acclaimed motion picture THE EXONERATED starring Brian Dennehy, Danny Glover, Delroy Lindo, Aidan Quinn, and Susan Sarandon.

The Company established a joint venture for the creation of a special theatrical event in conjunction with AMC Theatres to launch the motion picture “Indigo”.
